I used to have Bilstein 7100s on my D2 back in the day. Are those any good? The heim joints wore very quickly but you can replace with rubber bushings easily

These seem to be pretty good. I like how the truck rides with the 7100s and 3 inch RTE. I did have Bill at GBR to valve them aggressively for the weight of the truck.

I'm running poly bushes with them. Bill sent out some bushings I didnt care for. I found some online that fit perfect and are two piece. Easily replaced in the field.

Thanks for all your inputs - very helpful.

MountainD,

1) why did you like the Bilsteins the least?
2l why do you like OME the best?
3) which Fox shocks are you running?
4) any input on these:

The (air) adjustable Ranchos are finally leaking oil after years of use and abuse. I need a replacement for road and light trail use. And yes, my OME springs are sagging.

If I was considering heavy over land trips, I would have a second set of springs and shocks for such an occasional
The OMEs were the best for rebound control. Felt better in cornering. Worked great off-road. It was the best cross over shock I’ve used for off road/on road.

fox: 2.0 performance series smooth body IFP shock.

no Koni experience but some on here love them. Requires some modification if I recall correctly.

As a kid growing up in England, Koni was always a premium brand shock. Surprised to read about Bilsteins. I had a set with standard rover springs and the street ride was excellent.

I can attest this is one of the best driving/riding non stock land rovers I have been in.

My friend who is a Porsche fan boi is a huge fan of the adjustable Koni shocks for various reasons...
