OM606 Revisited for Defender

I'm just working out how to mount my transfer case shifter. Because I'm using a longer transmission, I had to move the transfer case back about 10". This means that the shifter ends up next to the transmission shifter. I'm trying to get them both to fit, not interfere with each other and not look like a hack job. It would be much easier if I got rid of the auto console but I like it...

Found the solution on a Landover Cummins swap Facebook page.

Plus.. I hate britpart with a passion
I was just giving an example in and not recommending that brand. Others mod the linkage and even cable to work in alternate locations. I have one (LR, not britpart whom I’m not a fan of either) that I was gonna use when I was pursuing the OM swap. Just seems way more simple, you’d need to create the linkage and get a longer cable, but there are folks in the OM/Merc facebook group doing it. Always good to have options.

Most of their swaps are originally manual trucks.. no console... Otherwise I could just put it directly behind a floor shifter like they do with ls swaps I have seen... So since I already have oba... It's seems like an easy viable solution... Playing with extended linkages are a pain in the ass... No extra cutting and I can use the original shifter as is.

The British Cummins guys go this way and they seem to think it works well. I like tried and true... Why recreate the wheel?

Up and running... Initially had a problem setting up the TPS... Just needed to change a setting on the ECU... And it wasn't getting enough fuel... Dropped the tank and redid the fuel intake... All good now... Fine tuning on Monday.

So on a different thread (more than one over time) I have been trying to figure out why my brakes won't stop as well as everyone says they should. I have over time replaced almost all the functional parts on my system. Since my km2s are fairly heavy tires and I have alot of gear stuck on my truck, I'm figuring that my calipers aren't getting enough hydraulic pressure to stop the momentum generated... After some research, I have decided to try this: https://www.powerbrakeservice.net/hybrsyforlar.html basically hydraulic assist vs vacuum. Run by the ps pump. Made especially for the defender. I will let you know if I see a difference. I figure if I'm going faster, it would also be good if I could stop better.

So close now it's killing me... Just setting up the transfer case... Need to do the transmission linkage and some minor details and it'll be ready...

Since this is a om606 page...

That's from one for sale, I think in Spain.
