Oil leaks

Found 2 obvious areas of oil leaking on my 2.5 L diesel. One from lift pump. And one from transmission. Looks like I’m missing plugs for both? Please advise.

Lift pump is toast , replace it.

The Wading plug hole is meant to be vacant unless you are fording water. Most likely your rear main seal is toast . It's a n engine out replacement job

Been looking for a replacement lift pump. Rear main seal was just swapped out

All suppliers should have lift pumps

If the rear main has been swapped it has already failed unfortunately. Oil coming from the wading hole is due to this .there are also tseals but they will leak outside of the clutch housing.

What main seal type did you use ? The later type rubber ones are prone to failure

Just make sure that is where the leaks are from. Detritus travels elusively with these rovers. All is not always what it seems. Master Yoda said that I think.

I thought my lift pump was leaking but it was the return lines. At first I thought I had a drip from my engine, it was the oil pressure switch. Clean everything, look twice. Could easily be both those things— just don’t sling parts at issues till your sure.

Yeah definitely check the seals on the cam driven ancillaries, the oil cooler (if present) the oil filter housing and the like.

Oil tends to travel and pool at the bellhousing, might be a good idea to drop the oil pan and re-seal with RTV and if you can do the T-seals while you are at it.

They always drip, make sure they dont pour…
