How hard is is for a fella to fix oil leak at harmonic balancer on a Range Rover classic? I have jack stands and a level driveway.
anybody willing to give me a step by step? Any special tools needed?

the local shop wanted 700 labor. Thanks for any comments

It's really straightforward there's a lot of how to's and YouTube videos if you search for Land Rover 3.9/4.2/4.6 front crank seal replacement.

Not super hard to do. Look at the balancer where the seal rides when you have it off. If heavy grooved, you may need to speed sleeve it (I did). Also, put a smear of grease on the seal mating surface when you install it so the sealing surface is not dry. Otherwise, pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the replies. Some videos make it sound like a gear puller is needed. Is it necessary to pull radiator to make room for gear puller? Pull radiator to get impact wrench on pulley nut ? Thanks for any input ?

You definitely do not need a puller. The hardest part of the job is taking off the belts
