Winter Romp 2018. Some random guy on the trail. Like several others that day, this guy had a Harbor Freight winch. As soon as the winch came under load, it instantly burned itself up and that was that.

Nice! We may swing by there after we finish up in Utah early this summer. How was it?

It was cool. Didn't have time to do much exploration as one in our party was having fuel delivery issues in his Series. Echo park is cool to camp in for established campground, but not in June. The mosquitos are next level persistent and big.

This picture is the second night in a different campground. The mosquitos drove us out of Echo. Suggest May for Echo might still be cool or breezy enough to keep them at bay.

I love this picture. I can still hear the Harbor Freight winch dying as a light load is applied.

Did you take this with Anthony's Leica?

I bought a Leica point and shoot right before we moved. I don't feel like I am skilled enough at photography to justify a real camera.

I am in the same boat. Handing an M10 to me would be like handing a violin to a monkey. There may be noise, but it's hardly music. Which Leica point and shoot do you have?

I have the D-Lux typ 109. I really enjoy it. I think it is a badge engineered Panasonic. My wife has a Fuji XT-10 and still likes to take mine on trips since it’s so easy to handle.

I actually did get to go to a place recently, took two of the trucks. This is an area that is about 45 minutes from my house, in National Forest Land, and I have plans to do some more exploring up this direction this summer.

Not trip or adventure related but I thought interesting anyway. My grandfather used to keep track of oil changes with a piece of tape on his sun visor. I started doing that years ago on my truck.. As best as I can tell I started at around 131,000 miles. Most of the ink is lost to time, water, weather, etc. Anyway I changed the oil the other day and started a new piece of tape.

Lots of fun times7295 in those miles.

Wow! Love that you are using it as intended! AND that is a great picture. Something about red on a Defender looks so right.
