Non rover classic car stereo install

I wanted to install a stereo with the following features/restrictions on my 1964 dart.

  • BT
  • AM/FM
  • no dash cutting
  • Tactile interface
  • runs off existing stereo circuit

I know there are tons of option in modifying the existing am radio to get the above features but, the cost is high. I also didn't want to use a BT amp as I wouldn't get a radio or get a interface that my older parents would be able to use.

I settled on the following components:

  • RA-55 head unit by Fusion
    • The head unit supports all my needed functions and has preamps if i ever decide to install an amp in the future.
  • Gimble mount for above head unit
    • Allows for a cut-free install
  • R1525X2 Rockford speakers
    • Nothing super fancy and had nice simple grilles and adequate power handling
  • Ebay early A kickpanel speaker housings
    • Way preferred over the ones from classic that come loaded with "premuim" 4x6 speakers or smaller
    • Made in Florida by ebay seller "keastab"
  • Undercover-II custom autosound under seat speakers
    • Easily slides under the seats do cars without a rear deck, line mine.

Wiring was simple as I took the existing switched radio circuit power. This being a marine unit it only requires switched power OR constant power not both. It also still remembers stations and BT settings without the constant power. AM radio still functions with the center speaker.
