A passing thought I had..could this unit be designed for UK summers where a heatwave is around 30C, whereas here, that's when I consider rolling up my long sleeves?
'was wondering the same thing. If the AC is designed to handle those holiday trips through the Chunnel to the south of France, it may have a tough time dealing with Arizona in the summer.A passing thought I had..could this unit be designed for UK summers where a heatwave is around 30C, whereas here, that's when I consider rolling up my long sleeves?
Note the heater hoses have been disconnected and looped together.
Also note the high and low pressure hoses that pass over the engine have been insulated.

this is the exact route I'm going.Waiting for a lhd one of these to show up (he's shipped it) to see how much room the a/c and heat take up under the bonnet. Truck is getting an r2.8 so space on the right side is a sensitivity.
It seems better based on my hour and a half drive back from Trevor's shop yesterday. How is the heat ouput on this unit? Is it any better than OEM?

Some updated pics (and video) post-install. Overall it looks like its meant to be there, I'm really happy with how it turned out. Please let me know if there are any questions. The volume of air is very impressive.

A few different hose fittings and other bits that Trevor sourced to route the hoses from box to compressor around the engine instead of (default) over it

Unfortunately not as the dash is reassembled. But it generally uses the same "plumbing" as the heat used to but now paired with the "cavity" that was added by the mud uk console (and the 2 additional vents in it).Do you have any pics of how it is ducted from the BOX to your vents there? That's quite nice.
Not sure I have something to accurately measure that, let me see what I can findGlad to see you're getting better results than I've had. Can you provide some data such as ambient temp verses temp at outlets?
Yes, but the issue then becomes the fact that the heater core can pull WAY more heat from the engine. A TDI ends up cooling when the heat is on full blast. A radiator muff fixes this mostly. A V8 wouldn't likely have this issue. How is the heat ouput on this unit? Is it any better than OEM?
