I assume you are correct. But there are no differential axles, as far as I understand, so it wouldn’t break the way we are used to.

This can certainly be done on dry pavement. Skid loaders operate the same way. However, there will be significant wheel hop and it will shred tires. This is why skid loaders that operate on pavement use solid or foam-filled rubber tires.

I thought the same way but the quote was still funny.

Just talked to a guy I know who has one on order. He's getting a 90, and has ordered the 18" steel wheels. He plans on using it for real, 33" tires, and accessories to make it worthy. I didn't know the 90 was on the way to the USA yet, but it actually is listed on the build your own site. Supposed delivery is this spring.

Yeah. That’s kind of what I thought. He says they have him scheduled between March and May.

Prob old news and already listed somewhere in this 16 page thread but the LR USA site posts base MSRP for the 90 at $65,100 vs 110 starting at $49,900.

Edit - looks like only one optioned vehicle for the 90 - 6 cyl engine, 20" wheels, etc so perhaps that $65 will come down if/when lower trimmed models become available.

Yes, I think that's correct. From what I am seeing, the 90 is actually meant to be a special edition. I'm thinking the '21 model will have more selection.... like you can select your color. They have no way to select a color that I can....

...wait a second... last night I went to Land Rover Portland web site (this is where he is planning to pick up his vehicle from, and they have a new dealership location, so I went there first) and clicked on New Vehicles --> Defender --> Build Your Own --> First Edition D90........ now there is not even an option to build your own, and there is no mention of the D90.

that's also how the internet said you adjust the tow bar on a mazda 6. I mean how many people could have possibly seen a paper manual for the defender already anyway?

Honestly, I think the electric fold away tow bar option on euro spec 2020 defenders should be enough to satisfy most people...

Was watching this video, thinking....

Land Rover: We are a small car company that cannot develop our own engines and such without great expense, putting it outside of our manufacturing abilities. Here is our new Defender that took us 10+ years to make. Even from the pics you can tell that it has questionable build quality, and nothing really innovative or new to offer.
Rivian: ......

LR is full of excuses for why they produce diluted, referential, effete cars that are still unreliable.

Rivian appears bold, but that last line about being "good for the planet" is a joke. Let's just be honest. No vehicle is good for the planet. Useful, yes.

Well, as long as the electricity is coming from someplace good, at least it isn't poluting the atmosphere anymore.

We are a small company excuse doesn’t fly. Tesla is putting that excuse in the grave where it belongs. JLR’s problem is they’ve been content with the compliments it gets about its looks.
