and is currently sitting in a LR dealer in Switzerland due to recurring reduced power failure. Ok so he’s $1300 poorer...
Having lived in Switzerland for 5 years that probably would have been a $650 bill in the US. 😂
However, my FL dealer maintained the “94 LWB very well albeit expensively.

Saw one on the road today for the first time.
Defender in name only because it looks like any another newer Range Rover or Discovery.

Once again, the other companies making Land Rover look bafflingly uninventive. Think what the New Defender could have been.

How is this going to work? Are we going to build a wall between the luxury Defender and classic Defender sections of the site? The new Defender bros aren't going to stand for this type of commentary when they begin to congregate on these forums.

I've said this before, but in a lot of ways, I do like the new Defender. If the timing/situation/price were right, I'd buy one. But I can't get over the idea that they took 8+ years to build something that is nothing new, just a feel-good shape for McGovern's ego. My commentary isn't directed so much at the vehicle -- which should be seen as the new Disco -- but at Land Rover corporate, who has gone out of their way to kill the Defender. The current line-up at LR is my main concern, not the new Defender itself. It's one of those situations that seems so obvious to me, I can't help but wonder what in the world they are thinking. Are they literally so blind?
