New Clutch issue driving me crazy!

From when I was going to do a Tdi swap on my D90 I seem to remember there are two slave cylinders and two different rods available for the R380. Any chance you have the wrong slave? I wouldn't think that would cause the humming/vibration, but just a thought.
I read that too about the different slaves. I tend to agree with you that the different length rod wouldn’t cause the vibration/humming noise. I’ll check to see which model was installed.

If the tech didn't resurface the flywheel, chances are he may not have changed the pilot bushing either. I had a worn bushing cause a weird vibration similar to what you describe.
He said he did. The clutch kit came with a new pilot bushing. I was thinking the other day that maybe the kit had a pilot hushing for diesel and not a V8. Would that make a difference and possibly cause this problem?

I'm not at all familiar with Rover V8 engines. Are the spigot bushings on a petrol V8 a different part number?
@El Pinchi
I honestly believe you need to drop the transmission and get a knowledgeable 3rd party to look at what you have going on. It could all be correct but a bad part or it could be assembled wrong or wrong parts. You obviously don't want to leave your general area till you get it figured out and fixed.

I bought a new pushrod when I did mine (actually both lengths) and found the 2 new ones and the old one were all different lengths. This was my thought as well, might be an issue we’re the wrong setup was used and you’re not fully moving the fork
