Nas vs row master brake cylinder

Is there a difference between the two? Can one be mistakenly switched for the other... Still trying to trace down a long time brake issue... Had my master replaced but wondering if they put the right one in...

NAS did have vented rotors. I’m guessing later RoW ones probably did too, but most of the 80s trucks I’ve seen have solid front rotors.

I actually prefer the solid rotors , cheaper parts and braking is just as good with the exception of heat retention....but I've never taken my truck on the track soooo?

After 94 you could get solid or vented rotors from LR. I've seen puma axles with solid rotors.

Ya the master was the same for a very long time.

What’s your brake issue?
i really have to push hard on the brakes to get them to stop the truck... a couple of brake places have said everything is working but the calipers don’t seem to grab the discs hard enough... a few people have said their brakes will lock up their tires... mine are far from that

Have you replaced flex hoses? Good vacuum? Servo good? My 110 isn't as solid as my D1 was, which would lock up 33s at 50mph.

This is a NAS V8 correct?

yes nas v8 (actually just switching to diesel)... no vacuum leaks... will see if new engines vacuum pump improves things... not sure what a servo is... I will do some reading.

okay, it’s the booster... brake booster/servo is new... flex hoses were new extended stainless wrapped.

If you have a vacuum gauge and pump you can test the booster directly to see if it's truly holding vacuum. Just because a part is new, doesn't mean it works.

If you're doing a tdi swap, just wait until you're done to start diagnosing. You dont want to throw parts at it before the swap.
