Looking for a set of 5 XZLs in 7.5R16 in good condition on the East Coast. Anyone have any?

Jimmy, I might have one for you (now that I got five new ones). BTW, do you still need the Detroit?

Sweet! Yeah, I'll still take the Detroit if you want to trade for that front truetrac. My wife drives that Disco every day, so I haven't pulled it out.

Jimmy - will bring the DL and a tire next time I'm in LA. No definite plans, but we get there every once in a while.
Eddie - in the UK, a little under $300 per tire including delivery.

peter, where did you score 5 new ones? Shoot me a text where and how much? Thanks!

I got mine from Rovers North. I just don't want to buy a new spare since I'll probably never use it considering how durable the XZL is.

school me up on these. spend a few decades in military, in maintenance unit, so familiar with the brand and type. Are these road friendly, tolerable noise? will they fit stock height? anyone use 8.25 on rovers? lots of internets info, but mainly people trying to get them, and others telling them we cant get them. i may add them to the list once i finish off my set of steelies. amazing how cheap they sell for overseas. thanks.

*bonus points for posting up your rig running on a set of xzl's.

I've got an almost new set of 7.50s on 5.5" wheels just sitting up on the shelf in the garage (take-off's from a poorly imported D110 that is long gone from these shores as I understand).

The worn in set that came on the Perentie went to CO and live on an 86" now.

Every week I think about moving the "new" set to the o.e. 6" Perentie wheels...I guess the tube-type thing still makes me a little nervous.

They're not horribly noisy for what they are...I can't speak to their life on-road, but they seem to last a darned long time off-road.

In my experience: they are a lot less out-of-round, and a lot quieter than BFG M/T KM2s. New, they are quieter even than Michelin LTX M/S.

We just branched off from Peter the day before this pic was taken. Pic above is Peter navigating his relatively stock height disco on 32s through the rubicon! Awesome. Pic of defenders is with 8.25s. Great tire. rolls well on the freeway and damn near indestructible off road.

are those all 8.25" ? Any fitment issues with stock height, those all look lifted a bit. Plus 8.25 are a bit easier to come by as per Google.

Either way, they all look what I have in my mind a defender looks like on proper tires. thanks for sharing, that picture makes me jelly of that trip for sure.

8.25 are most certainly not easier to come by. They are practically unobtainable.

I could not find any 7.5 CONUS except pangolin and RN (didnt check stock), but did see some used on fleebay and other military tire sites at 8.25. This place in VA has a few for sale. Id' be all over them based on this thread and if i could offload some of my uneeded stuff.

I may be kicking myself later for posting this I guess...

due to the sidewall profile? post yours up.

I have to assume these are also quite heavy, so steel wheels and these are likely a good load on a TDI?

They are extremely heavy. I am a mechanic and lift up 22" Range Rover wheels all day. I can barely lift a 8.25 on a ANR 1534 when my truck is on a lift.

I don't like how far the sidewall sticks out with these wheels. I've seen other Defenders with these same tires but 5.5" Series wheels, and they look much better.

All three 110s are lifted 3 inches or so. stick with the 7.5s in near stock trim.
