LT95 to R380 tunnel compatibility

Will a R380 clear the tunnel of a truck that originally had a v8 and Lt95? Cant find a clear answer, only threads that end up with "why would you swap that" type responses.

No. You need to get a trim piece from I think Uncle Doug, or Doug Shipman in Portland. It is an edged new opening that will make the seat box clear the new transmission.

I can't remember exactly how I ended up figuring out the placement of mine, but I seem to remember that once I had the new trim piece, it was a simple task of drawing the line and cutting the seat box to fit. I then riveted the new piece in place, and then repainted my whole box.

The LT95 is a great transmission. But it still has that old tractor made to drive on the road feel that the 4-speed in a Series has. The R380 is fine, and much more modern feeling.

An R380 tunnel nicely fits over an LT95, don't know about the other way around. I have a spare Linex covered LT95 tunnel, if needed.

It will probably clear. The LT95 tunnel is huge. But.... The shifter location won't work and there is no place for the transfer case shifter. You will really want to get the somewhat expensive proper tunnel and diaphragm and modify the seat box to fit..

Interesting enough, we have 2 110 V8 vehicles here.
1984 with LT95 and 1987 with LT85.
Haven't taken exact measurements, but at a glance, the tunnels look identical.
Had to swap the seat base, floors, and both tunnel sections from an early LT77 setup in order to fit an R380 stumpy when we converted over to the Chevy 292 engine.
