Since no project is ever complete - 6.0 going in this week. I just want to be able to tow a little easier. I'll also be doing OME shocks / springs and stabilizer and a sals rear with discs this summer.

So, what's involved in mounting the motor on a Defender frame? My frame is galvanized. How would the motor mounts be welded on? Is it do-able?

There's nothing wrong with my 300 Tdi but I've daydreamed about an LS while putting across Kansas at 55-60 and showing up half-deaf.

Nick offers both weld in & bolt in mounts, you’d have to contact him directly to confirm if your chassis was suitable for bolt in type.

More questions for you @Boswalt ...

What did you end up doing for your headers?

What did you do for a trans tunnel cover/shifter?

I found a one off custom set with a center drop and once we modified the down pipe, it cleared my throw out. Center tunnel is stock but we widened it a bit and cut back the passenger floorboard slightly. I had to make custom floor mats but that was no big deal. TC shifter is out of a disco one and puts it in the right spot.

I still have the holly headers that they recommend for the 6L80E if anyone wants them.

Should give me 70+ more HP but over 100 ft lbs of torque. I've never been a HP guy but draggin up the passes with that trailer sucked.

Looks like you used a stock Defender radiator. Did you have to have custom hoses made?

What's the 6.0 out of and what's the spec difference?

lq4 out of a 2004 Yukon Denali replacing a 1999 LR4 4.8 out of a Silverado. 250hp vs 325hp or so? But with the ls1 intake I really have no idea so.... it’s bigger and at $650 it’s a cheap bolt in power upgrade.

again, nothing wrong with the 4.8, just didn’t tow well but the truck worked great other than that. If I didn’t have that tent trailer I wouldn’t have swapped.

Chris, I forget, do you have another Defender you are working on, or are you asking this stuff in regards to swapping the engine in your current vehicle?

EDIT: I think I just saw that you answered my question in a post further up.

So I finally finished the install. My kids soccer career was slowing me down but we’re up and running.

this thing is amazing! Worked out a small fueling issue and replaced a bad o2 sensor then took it out. The 4.8 was awesome compared to the original 2.5na but this 6.0 crushes it. I’m worried about my transfer case.....
