LR3 02 Sensor Drivers side up stream best way to remove?

Anyone here replace their 02 sensors on a LR3? I'm not able to get to the drivers side upstream sensor, blocked by the drive shaft. Thought about removing the driveshaft but the bolts are super tight and its wanting to strip. Thought about dropping the pipe but that looks to be more involved than I was wanted to get into this weekend.

For anyone that has done this what was the easiest way to get to it?

I replace all 4 on my LR3 a while back. Used a special wrench like the one pictured along with this ratchet. I also use a regular wrench to break the sensors loose. Once I figured out the angles I didn't have much issues removing the. Except for the forward left side one. Apparently during assembly they failed to put on anti seize on the threads and removing the sensor also pulled out the threads. I use a O2 sensor tap to re cut the threads but that took quite a while because of the limited acces.

I have that tool. I'll try and get creative and see if I can remove it with some extensions. How did you unplug it? That looks almost as impossible to get to.

Now that you ask I remember that disconnecting the plug was a challenge. I used a long screwdriver to depress the plug release while I pulled on the sensor wire. It was one of those jobs that I had to look at as a challenge and set my self up so I didn't feel any pressure to get the job done by allowing plant of time. Hang in there an be patient, you'll get it.

The important thing is to have a really good quality O2 sensor socket. Cheap ones spread out and round off the sensor in my experience.

I seem to remember unbolting the drive shaft from the diff only to replace that sensor. I've never seen one of those bolts break or round off using the correct sized socket.

Thanks. Just picked up a set of female torx sockets. I was using a universal type socket that is supposed to work with those heads but it kept popping off. I'm guessing the thread locker is making them too tight for the universal socket.
