Low fuel light problems!

NAS 110 Low fuel warning light turns on after only 1/8 of a tank is used. The only time is its off is when the tank is full to 7/8th. I replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump and sender last year but it did it even before I replaced all of that.

Any idea what is the problem could be?
Thanks in advance,
Ed

The low fuel light is controlled by an electronic module that is buried inside the wiring loom. It can't be fixed and has never existed as a part that could be purchased.... This is the setup for all 200TDI era trucks.

The only possible fix could be if someone has messed with the wiring.

This place sells modules that are adjustable and you could install to replace the original one. https://www.spiyda.com/gauge-electronics.html

Yes. That picture is from the NAS 110 Defender workshop manual. But it is the same for all trucks worldwide from the "Defender" introduction to the end of the 1993 model year.

I'm amazed that Defenders at one point in time had something so luxurious as a low-fuel light.

Only the 300TDI era did not have them (94 to 97). All trucks before and after have them. It is easy to add one with the module linked above. The light is still there in the instrument cluster.

I've worked for a few hours one day to try get my low fuel light to come on (I have a 300tdi main wiring harness). I kept banging my head as the original 2.5NA harness had the low-fuel light come on (one of the few things that worked). I finally gave up but this is great to know.

Looks like you just need power, ground, sensor from fuel tank sender and then the output goes to the dash low fuel light. I am guessing any of the adjustable modules for resistive sender would work?
