LHD to RHD axle conversion question

Not quite, but incentive to go for it. Get a disco one steering box with the better drop arm (no integrated ball joint) and the d1 24 spline disc brake rear axle and do it right. It takes us about 28 hrs labor time to fully convert one with the parts on hand (we make the brake lines).

A cheap bucket sand blaster is a very usefull for cleaning up rusty parts and making them look new again. https://www.sears.com/craftsman-50-...3BdtY_pn6wZFf-wzMvgJpGznUKUMb9ywaAhlnEALw_wcB

Use the smaller size Black Diamond media sold @ tractor supply (red bag). Makes crusty ugly stuff bare white metal in no time.

Follow up with some self etch primer and VGT Epoxy frame paint and they will be better than what rover put out. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p...dFkcLLSI0a3Mxx0q660aArdmEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

There are videos on how to convert the lower dash to lhd that make a lot of sense now that that part is around $2k
Thanks for the info. I don't have the interior parts but I have a bulkhead cut for either side and both axles as well as a LHD wiper motor. I don't know if I have the 24 spline rear axle but the one I have is in much better shape than the pos that is on it currently, and the calipers look cherry. I never minded that my truck is RHD but I am considering selling it so I may go through with the conversion. I guess I need a LHD heater blower and the dash and cables to do the deal. I have made brake lines, so that is no big deal. I have a kind of home made sandblaster setup. I'll check out the medium that you mentioned. I have been buying bagged sand at Lowes. It works ok after I get it good and dry.

The difference between a lhd wiper motor and a rhd wiper motor is the park position on the plastic gear inside. I open them up, clock the gear 180 degree's and its converted to lhd. The actual rack/drive tube requires a shorter curved tube piece off the motor thats around $20 and you move the rack over to the other set of holes.
Heater box's are under $400 if you use the td5 part number on LR Direct. Properly done, lhd makes @ least a 10k difference in value here.
One of those mods that definitely comes back to you in cash.

If you decide to switch, I have the dash. You have the axle and bulkhead. Not much more needed

I used a Disco 1 steering box along with a set of Gwynn lewis HD steering arms and ball joints, definitely worthwhile. then just bought NAS 95 steering pump to box lines and hooked it up.. not hard.

The LHD gear is part # 517646 - its cheap, i did not have any luck converting the gear and just replaced it.. the short piece is PRC3672 - that and some wiper arms is all it takes. just cut off the excess screw length

I just did a D1 LHD axle housing under my RHD 110. straight forward swap using the axle housing and radius arms off the D1.
