Interesting NAS(?) Diesel conversion on eBay..

Pretty sure it was once an ST NAS truck...

Panted Fiberglass Hard Top, 6.5 liter Turbo Diesel, cruise control, Recaro (possibly power?) seats, and enough phone mounts for the whole family....

Vin does go to an AA Yellow NAS. Plastic NAS top.

That is definitely not the engine to use. Think that’s the one many people in the UK tried and gave up on. Too heavy, too much torque for an R380. Wonder if it’s eaten it’s gearboxes. Last made a long long time ago. Think the redline is 3500/3600rpm. Boy racer gauges.

Pass.

Diesel swaps (or other engine swaps) in NAS trucks make me sad though (I know I may be in the minority here). I am like the one person who thinks the 14CUX rover V8 is perfect. :)

I totally agree yet if you’re going to do it stay with a Rover engine. Really liked the 300TDI in the 110 we had in Brasil.
And yes, I like my 14CUX V8 in my ‘94 Rangie! Especially now that the rotor issue seems to be resolved with PowerSpark.

Who makes a good distributor for 14cux that isn’t some goofy GM part?

Yes they do make the red rotor. Also have a distributor cap from them for the ‘94 Rangie. They are now using aluminum contact points vs the brass used in the past. Still a good cap though.
Haha, I called them out on that the last order and they assured me performance is up to spec. Odd to have alu contacts cap with a brass rotor.

Yes, I thought the same yet it seems to work. Has been on the Rangie now for about 7k miles. Prior rotors quit after 1500 miles. Left me stranded 3 times. Red Rotor works great!

I hope so, new 'OEM" rotors left me on the side of the road twice. The first time I didn't realize what it was and to come home on a flatbed, the second time, I at least knew what it was, and had a spare under the passenger seat, so was on my way after 10 minutes (and good thing too, it happened in a not so great spot downtown with the family aboard)..

There is a Red Rotor in there now, hope that is the end of that BS..

Exactly!! Same for me. I just couldn’t accept a new LR OEM rotor could be bad so took me 3 flat beds. Supposedly there was a bad batch made of OEM rotors yet I couldn’t tell. The ones made in Spain are said to be ok yet after buying a stash of them found PowerSpark and never used my OEM ones. Have about 7k on the PowerSpark cap / rotor and no issues.

Land Rover. I have a stack of spares and all mine are on the original distributor.
Never had a problem with LR cap as well however there are slight differences between LR and PowerSpark. Figured if using PowerSpark rotor go with their cap.

Yeah, I have only found used ones that work well. I’m looking for a new replacement part that is good quality like the original Land Rover part. The one I took out of my wife’s Range Rover was new genuine from the dealer.

Know we are totally hijacking this thread yet on a RRC get a rotor from PowerSpark and their cap. It is a good combo.
