Have you seen the D-90 Forum it's terrible!

I used the NAS Row icon as my avatar on D-90 Source for a long time and it still didn't bring much traffic here.
Let's hope the new ads annoy owners enough to bring them over here.

Agreed. PS - I still owe you signed terms and conditions on the 292 conversion...haven't forgotten. (y)

OK.
BTW the kits are basically selling themselves.
Mailing list is encroaching on 50 and half the available kits have sold.
Thought the momentum would diminish over the holidays, but there isn't any slow down as of yet.
If the demand remains constant will have to start on a second batch early next year!
Also have a RHD 110 up and running with a $125, 46,000 mile 250 engine... very nice to drive.
It took 14 hours to complete, not counting removing the old engine as this 110 was engine-less.
This proves that if you have everything you need, a DIY owner can complete the conversion over a 2 day weekend.
What was really fun was when a friend, trying to follow me to the bier garden in his 300TDI 110, disappeared in my rear view mirror.

Dave and I talked about the other site being more popular than NAS ROW and I told him, just wait, the owners over there haven't got a clue, they'll screw up, and when they do, you and Chris be ready!

Everyone has ads now, even the moderators...

I'm not seeing any ads. It seems it took a while for them to straighten out the ad blocking for long-time members, but it seems to working now. It did have to go into my Preferences and check the "no ads" boxes.

As for the new platform, I like it. The old one was looking ridiculously long in the tooth. It had issues like photos being turned sideways, because the old code didn't recognize orientation tags in the jpeg standard, and it didn't recognize html tags for emojis that users would paste in.

I have Ublock on my MacBook & see very few ads, but the site is so filled with ads on my Ipad (that does not have an ad blocker) that it is unusable. I sure hope it gets smoothed out, because, while I mostly post here, I have spent months of my life reading old threads on D90 trying to learn about Defenders before I ask a question that has been answered a dozen times already. Especially now that these trucks are out of production, the archives of knowledge over there are irreplaceable.

Since we're on the topic, I saw some knucklehead on D90 advising people to install the "Adblock" extension. This is really, really horrible advice. The only trusted ad blocker in 2019 is Raymond Gorhill's uBlock Origin. Ray is 100% dedicated to the open source community and the total blocking of advertisements. Many of the other so-called blockers sell your data on the back-end or permit advertisers to get ads past the blocker in exchange for $$$$. Ray does not.

Here is the URL: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/

Sweet. I'd at least call it a donation and include a sticker or something.

Let's summarize what they are saying.
If you provide them with quality content (what else would premium members provide) and $19.99 a year they will give you an advertisement filled place to post your quality content.
Sounds like something PT Barnum would come up with.

Wow.... Since they made the change over there, I haven't even been looking at the For Sale section. I just don't. It isn't even a conscious choice, it's just such a turn-off, I don't even think about going over there anymore.

And now this? Glad this site is here.

I still browse classifieds and sold a few things recently. If not for Tapatalk, that would be out the window as well.

$20 a year for premium?

If you become member does it make the site somewhat usable like before the change?

I will admit that I haven't really played around with my settings on that sight or the Range Rover site but the trending discussions on both those sites are laughable.

Defender Sightings is in the second spot for Trending Discussions. There hasn't been an update in that thread in almost 2 weeks.

I will say though that right around the time that it was updated one of the new members called out a veteran member saying that they didn't have any "likes" like it was supposed to be a popularity contest like a social media site. :jerkit:
