I don’t know about that. Life seems to be fine in the UK post brexit. The people voted, a majority said leave, the MPs and parties that were against it and dragged their feet on the actual exit lost massively in the last general election because voters were fed up with being lied to about supporting the results of the referendum ultimately.

The politics over here are interesting, but brexit as a whole has not seemed to affect day to day life as much as the rest of the nonsense that goes on.

At the end of the day I expect every individual to do what’s in their best interest regardless of what they say. Same as the hullabaloo about Rishi’s wife’s income being legally exempt from taxes. If people don’t like the rules, change them. Don’t blame people for playing within the bounds of the rules set forth for all.

I’m buying a Grenadier stateside. I’ll probably stick to the KZJ95 here in the UK until the summer then ship it to Memphis to use as my “airport car”, sell my GX470, and buy a Prado 150.

Not believing everything (anything!) I read or hear, the commentary about the UK PM is that he has limited time to turn things around, as they say if a general election were held today, the conservatives would lose by over 30%... as a direct result of Brexit, which the U.S. outlets say drove an already high risk of inflation through the roof. Is this inconsistent with UK reporting?

Back to the regularly scheduled programming: I still see a Saab 9-4X here and there, which I believe had the shortest shelf life of any model in my life's memory. I plan to follow through with my Grenadier deposit... whether they'll still be on offer by the time my slot comes up, who knows? They say the Bronco Heritage models are sold out to those long since on the waiting list, for sake of comparison.

I wonder if they seriously considered a soft-top version of the Grenadier. They really need that for the North American market in order to realistically compete with the Wrangler and Bronco. Someone needs to let them know.
Soft top is specifically mentioned in new North American QA video I just found out about - haven't been watching email all that closely... No soft top coming.

I don’t think the forecast for the last election had the conservatives winning 43% of the popular vote in 2019, but it happened.

Just like with people speculating that the Grenadier won’t be delivered or it will be well above expected pricing compared to competing vehicles and disappear quickly, I will not put much thought to it. I’ll just wait and get one when I get one. It’s a brand new company that started from ground up based off a napkin drawing. It’s impressive that one has rolled off the assembly line despite all of the roadblocks idiotic governments tried to create over the past few years.

Good joke by Trevor Noah last night. A big part of Brexit was anti-immigrant. Look who they have as PM now.
Last one had the shortest tenure in history. Wish this one well.
One British news headline proclaimed after Truss took office: Exchequer to Country, "Honey I shanked the quids."
As a general rule, anything the Bolsheviks are for, I'm against. (Same with Chi-Com.) Kind of old school, I guess.

Is there one in Texas?
There was an event in Houston yesterday. Austin and Dallas in coming days. The Ineos team was awesome and very engaging.

The vehicle is amazing.

Yeah, I came here to post that LR Time video because it really shows how far the truck has come from the prototype to the pre-production. By the time the majority of us see them in the States, they will be dialed in quite well.

that video is gold. thanks for sharing...

Gold in some ways, I suppose

I immediately lost faith in the video when they pulled in and said "oh my God, there is a Discovery", admiring the nearly stock Disco 3 with a stupid ARB snorkel when there was a pretty well outfitted double cab D110 that they drove by, and then walked by without a mention.

Does say something about their target audience.

The steering wheel is pretty ugly but the rest of the interior is well designed

Haha! Their shtick seems to be her smiling overenthusiastically throughout their videos and him berating her correctively.

Ineos seems to be trying too hard to be minimalistic/unique with the steering wheel... a la Citroen DS or Lagonda, but with too many buttons. It does seem like a teensy-weensy bit small for the scale of the interior and the reported purposefulness of the vehicle. I personally prefer something with heft.

Good vid. Had no idea Werner Herzog was a Rover head.
We know it's heavy, vid gives an idea of how big. Maybe it's "just tall, that's all."

Ratcliffe, while being interviewed elsewhere, did comment on how fast Hamilton was able to drive the vehicle on pavement. He admitted to being a bit uneasy in the passenger seat at the speeds travelled.

It does look a bit small and chunky. It may have something to do with the size of center "stack". Possibly a consequence of how far back the inline six sits into the passenger compartment?

I daily drive a short wheel-based vehicle with a 16" diameter steering wheel and no power steering. I am used to the leverage you can apply with a big wheel and ample cabin space. Anything too much smaller and I feel like I'm driving a go cart. I wonder how many turns lock to lock on a Grenadier?

I sat in the truck when it came through Dallas a couple of weeks ago. The steering wheel was smaller. What struck me was how narrow the space felt in the front seats. Unlike the defender, the door panels are thick. I wish I had measured them but they were 6-7 inches thick. That together with the center console makes it tight. I am 6’5” and felt the legroom and space back from the steering wheel was fine but when you close the door, you feel it closes in at the shoulders and hips.

Has anyone seen how the Grenadier displays your speed?

I was driving a modern BMW recently, it had the windshield HUD, and it was difficult (and tiring) trying to keep the speed constant.
