The old Def's ride was best among live axle trucks on/off pavement.
The RRC LWB is pretty decent as well and the seating position better imho. Just seems to be more room than what I had in either the 90 or 110. For the most part the RRC on coils, D1, and the Defenders were pretty much the same suspension wise.

They updated the config tool. You can now paint the front end red or orange. If you want to.

They also added contrast paint for the rear door.

I’m not a fan of the wide tires, but the height in these seems just perfect to me. First real modification of any type that I’ve seen.

BTW, this was part of a training day in SA for the sales people for upcoming deliveries

not my style either, but good to see a different setup. I'm sure the Jeep guys will want their wheels back after testing.

I'm torn between wheels but currently stuck on the steelie 18's. That's the defender owner in me talking, but open to others. Likely would like to see some compomotive style or some EVO Corse. Im sure there will be options once it's out.

If the Grenadier isn't a good tow vehicle, Ineos will have missed a big part of their "Defender and then some" design brief.
Walking with the Wounded sounds like a worthy charity. Their graphic caught my interest. Had to check why Nordic skiing towing a sled featured on a Grenadier in the desert.

This is one of the best reviews I've seen so far. Some good underbody detail that shows where there may be weaknesses, and where things, I would guess, will change from prototype level. The interior noise seems very low. And some interesting info about aftermarket products and companies. Lots to like, and lots to still look forward too when the production model is ironed out. On the other hand, there are hints that the US price will now be in the $80k range..... Which isn't outlandish, compared to what is out there, but it is out of the reach of a lot of people compared to $60k-$70k.

Yeah. It's one of those things were there's a sort of invisible line that I wouldn't cross. At $65k, I'd be looking for a nice used in the first few years, and might make it work. But at $80k,.... not really worth waiting for. Although.... by then, a used one might be more expensive than a used one now!

Whats the failure rate on those Rzeppa (appear to be) joint driveshafts? Also, maybe its the camera angle but in several frames the rear driveshaft appears to be off center from the transfer box to rear diff? Those rear link mounts are brutal, pretty cool otherwise looks solid.

They're used on tons of new vehicles, so I'd say their service life must be pretty high. Most information I've read suggests they can be quite strong as well.

The barn doors are the business for load/unload. Ambulance tech rules!
Ineos have guts for exposing the prototypes. Upside is public feedback may help with tweaks left to do.
Horsepower spec is less than I thought. On the utilitarian side of the scale.
Side visibility sounds disappointing. The Pretender still has Alpine windows, but at least the Grenadier doesn't have design squares where there should be windows.

Full specs will be announced in April, Clark said, the same time when the configurator goes into full operation.

“We’ll be expanding the configurator that we have now, which is kind of more of a visualizer, a bit of a tease, but it allows people to configure in the different colors with some of the different options that are available. Then in April we’ll add all of the different products, features, and accessories.”

Their US advertising campaign will start in the fourth quarter of 2021, when they'll ship over preproduction vehicles.

“I’d say you could expect U.S. pricing to be in the upper reaches of Wrangler, Bronco, and 4Runner,” said Clark. A little messing around on configurators and I came up with the following prices that might have been “in the upper reaches” of those competitors: $87,705 for a loaded Wrangler with the 392, $60,980 for a loaded four-door Bronco, and $58,329 for a 4Runner TRD PRO with all the trimmings.

Makes sense. Those vehicles are built like toys compared to this thing.

They came by Seattle yesterday with a prototype Grenadier and had a preview event. I was able to climb in it look through it. Many of the interior and exterior pieces were still 3d printed prototypes and not final but I liked it overall. They didn't firmly commit on pricing but asked what people thought the price should be. The consensus of the group was $60-$65k and he said they were trying very hard to be in that range.
