Based off the spy shot I’d prefer buying it than a new Defender or a Wrangler Unlimited. It looks like it has solved the problem I have with the Unlimited. Rear cargo space. As long as it comes in priced where they say they want it I’d buy one. If I can check all the boxes at once and be down to one vehicle that’d be liberating. Until my love of projects catches up with me again.

Worst case scenario: Like the Delorean, it’s somebody’s dream car but doesn’t meet anyone else’s standards. It lives for a year or so and dies.

Best case scenario: Not only does attract buyers but also Government orders, establishes second factory in India or China to satisfy those markets and shortening the waiting list. Licenses technologies,

The US market didn’t really warm up to the FJ Cruiser, yet it had a small cult following...260hp, IFS, retro style, many cool mods, a ton of off and on road capability...kind of like a 90 in size...I enjoyed it for 5 years before moving on to a 100 Series, and also a 110. This may have the same result.

I’m struggling a bit to imagine the US suv/Offroad market warming up to this vehicle. I’m also struggling to understand what exactly is the problem their trying to solve? What I hear them say is their mission is to provide the strongest purpose-built vehicle that will be more reliable but provide the creature comforts the public demands today. I wonder how big they think that void is and what percentage of that population is going to be jump ship? How they navigate through the maze of internet minefield of naysayers and survive will be painful to watch.
Seems like using a BMW engine is not going to satisfy the reliability requirement? I feel like I hear a lot of negative reviews about modern BMW power plants.

I am always reserved on concepts whether in drawings (especially drawings) or in actual metal mock ups but damn this looks good.

They also have a few more videos to release in the next few days. They are only on episode 4 of 15.

My skepticism is much lower than it used to be in recent years. The rise of Elon shows that tweets and ramblings can become reality.

Really looks like what the New Defender ought to be.

Especially when you see details like the hood hinges, vents in the hood to release heat, something the defender so badly needs. And the defender like headlight surround.

Wonder if, being BMW powered, they can cut a deal with BMW to sell through their dealers here.

I love my 470 for traveling with the family... and the 90 if I'm by my self.

Looks like they took the best bits of the G, D, and even some J, and put them all together. I think it’s a little “over done” but would love to see one in person! Especially if they managed to make things work like a modern car should.
