If I outfit mine, I get $85k, which isn't bad, but it is beyond what I could do. Not going into debt for a car. For now, I'll have to stick with the Rovers and the GWagen. An update to the G might be to move into a V8 with lower miles in the next few years. For sure, I'll be going to take a look at one when I get the chance!

It's a lot of coin anyway you look at it, but when compared to other similar vehicles in the market place, it is priced competitively. I don't like that realization, but the reality is most vehicles are being priced out of reach of most of the populous anymore, and very few vehicles are being made for reasonable prices..

Either Sela Green with White Contrast roof or Magic Mushroom.
Still deciding on options specially the F/R diff locks or the aux power.
aux power is one of the game changers for this. you could not likely recreate this for the cost, especially not the effort. the use of deutsche has me even more sold. if i do yolo and get one, ill likely go with trailmaster w/ most built in.

I don’t want the sun roofs or the snorkel, so the a la carte build is for me. Still pricey but I’m trying to weed it down…

I am trying to go for resale value... still not 100% sure on my use case. For some reason in the trialmaster you cannot select the premium stereo because of the Aux Battery upgrade. And you cannot deselect the Aux battery. I think the stereo would be more important for resale than the battery.
And if you start with the fieldmaster you cannot go steelies, which I would rather have... Looks like base model build all the way and skip the fancy jacket (which probably wont be included in the resale market anyway and wont be specific to Ineos)

If I were going Belstaff jacket, I'd personally go McGregor edition anyway.

Do springs actually go bad? I am with you on shocks and genuine rubber bushings.
I think the issue is more that they sag which affects the steering geometry. A lot of the import trucks come in with cheap aftermarket lift springs, so I always try to get people away from those.

Speaking of springs, the Grenadier technical guy said they offer 7 different spring rates, and that adding the winch, or the roof rack, results in a corresponding increase to spring rate. He said this was to meet design spec regulations (?) as they leave the factory. He also said all of the test drive vehicles are on standard (not uprated) springs.

Alright. An entire jet lagged day of trying to build this reasonably and I can’t do it. I explained the inner turmoil to my wife and she said, “Wasn’t this thing supposed to be affordable? Wasn’t that the point?”

I can’t stop comparing the price tag to what I could have with other makes or older Land Rovers. Why’d they have to make the base $71k? LOL

Pretty lengthy discussion on the IG forum too and a number of folks have backed out.
Don't forget the taxes, etc, etc...

Meh. Canceled my reservation. Maybe in a few years when they have a better dealer network. Not close to anything and for just wanting a classy off-road vehicle it’s $16k more than I want to pay for a vehicle with factory lockers. I hope everyone that gets one enjoys it!

I was hoping for more of a 5 door version of the Jimny. This seems more like a dumbed down Gwagen. IDK, not what I was hoping for, but exactly what I expected

The real question is will the Grenadier be available for sale in our lifetime. This thread has been going for 3 years. I have seen seeds grow into harvestable trees faster.

They promise the early reservation holders to have their trucks delivered by the end of the year.

I'm really not sure if I want to keep my reservation since there aren't any sale and services at Quebec, not even one has been planned for 2024.

Deliveries have started in Europe, supposedly US delivery's are supposed to start by the end of this year..

"Ineos says Grenadier delivers will start by the end of 2023 in America and in Q1 2024 in Canada"
