Brilliant, really love the interior but hate that BMW style automatic shifter, I wish they would go with a bit more leather to match the steering wheel.

Definitely pre order one in October. I still keep my D90 NAS though.

As much as i question all those switches, i think its the most surefire method to eliminate touch screen and multi touch buttons and dials. I definitely appreciate the pre wired aux stuff and the hex head panel pop outs. im sure carling will have some conversions in no time. ;)

Seems like lots of switches, probably a good thing? My DD has one of those little selector knobs and it gives me the willies..

There is hope with the Grenadier, likely out my price range regardless of how it arrives (if).

The switches are a great mix of BMW, BMW aka Mini and very aircraft like in grouping and appearance.

The displat in front of the steering wheel is definitely different, but I bet it functions really well.

Looking back through the video I found some more things I didn't quite notice before.

1. No instrument cluster. Looks like everything do do with gauges is on the central screen. I would have appreciated more segregated gauges, but that is only in my mind as I'm never going to be in the middle of the desert or woodlands where my fear of the central screen going out puts me in a NMC status. My trip to the grocery store and home depot will likely do fine.
2. 500A, a few 25A, and 10A aux switches. I heard that Redwinches is working with Ineos for a winch setup. It's nice to see a prewired switch for a winch, and maybe even a solenoid or heavy relay so you only have to hookup a short power line to it. (still curious where it terminates). 25A are nice too for the exterior stuff, even though these days it seems like you wont need anything that high. Some lower amp for interior as well.
3. the dial adjust on one of the roof switches says "level", I wonder if that is for the work lamp that is next to it.

It seems to me that things like the display, and instrument cluster, and even the BMW shifter are place holders at this moment. I'd like to see analogue gauges. The center screen--as long as the interface doesn't try to make you think you are in a Transformers, or Fast and Furious movie.

LOVE IT. Looks like a well thought out design, contemporary without a lot of useless fluff. Nice touch on the overhead switches. Nothing is as satisfying as the positive "click" feel of a switch.

I'm guessing the small opening front of the steering wheel is going to be a small instrument cluster.

What's the consensus on how this is being sold? Will it be through BMW?

I assume they are final design.

It’s the exact same system you see on modern BMWs. Right down to the dial and the gearshift.

When they purchased the BMW motors, it looks like they purchased the iDrive, or whatever they’re calling it, as well.

I do find the HUD feature on BMWs interesting. Although not anything I’d pay extra for.

The sunroof version of the Grenadier interesting. If you look at the gallery photos, it looks like a helicopter cockpit.

Hope they do it like Tesla and just buy it online or in their showroom with a fixed price. I hate bickering over the price with the sales guy and his "manager" then have to fight with the finance guy about how much I can put on my AmEx for the miles, why I don't want to finance the vehicle and why I don't need Poly-Raz-Mataz paint protectant.

Me too.

The guys at Commonwealth Classics are looking at becoming an authorized dealer. They have a really cool low key process.

Yes, design, as in what we see now, but we have not seen them turned on yet. And I do wonder about the main cluster. It seems like they have been touting the idea of analogue enough that it would be odd to have digital only gauges up there.

Like you say, the gear shift really is exactly what is in my wife's '17 X5. And the heads up display in the X5 actually works well--unless you are wearing Walmart polarized sun glasses.....

Am I seeing that the center lock will be on a stick in the same configuration as '90s Rovers?

I wouldn’t be surprised if that stick is in reality, merely controlling a switch directing motors to do the hard work.

A lot of details are down to personal preference, but what's clear is that the Ineos guys' heads are in a completely different place than the ones at JLR, and it shows all over the Grenadier.
Smart play leaving sat nav, which become obsolete, out of the built in screen system.
I wouldn't wash any vehicle's interior out with a hose, but it is a nice thought.
If pickup has to pay the chicken tax, might not make it to USA.

Did anyone else catch that little nod to the Defender transfer case on that shift knob? I love all the little details... Even if it looks like Airbus or Boeing designed the inside.
