No idea what a third pulley offset in the middle of its 66-84 US run means.
Explained the factory rationale regarding crossing fan belts and different spacings.

It is so rewarding when someone buys a conversion kit, finds an engine, and undertakes their own install, even though it's the first time they have taken on anything like this.
What's it like being the man?

Hey, you told me that I was the man!

On topic, the conversion looks great and it does sound very much like a straight-six Chevy motor!

Hey, you told me that I was the man!

Let me clarify.
What I said was you were the great man, often referred to as the greater man in ROW countries.
The great man is the one who facilitates all the logistics and technical support in order to allow a regular guy to be the man.
Without a few great men, the men would only be a bunch of regular guys and would never reach being the man.
Overall the situation is quite humbling for any great man when one of his regular guys becomes the man.
Then the man hears things like: you're the man! of gets asked what's it like being the man?
I hope this clarification was helpful.

Obviously if the firing order is correct the engine will run properly.
It's your railroad and you are the conductor punching the tickets.
You can choose to have the number 1 position anywhere on the cap as long as the high tension leads reach the correct spark plug.
This is a decision the man makes!

I would reset the dist but it sounded so good don’t want to change anything. I will reverse the wires to help clean it up

yea dont fuck with it if its running well . once you drive it under load you will have to mess with the timing anyway to get the best performance/avoid pinging . you can mess with it then after a shakedown period

Little more progress. Hoses and radiator installed. Wired up the fans to work with the sniper. The sniper kicks on the fans at 190 and turns them off at 180 (default setting) I assume that you can adjust on and off settings. I would assume that the fans will be running all most of not all the time in the GA climate. Took a while to burp the system. Right now idling I have temps 195-205 range I have 180 thermostat installed.

not sure if these ranges are normal or additional burping is possibly needed.

I assume that under power temps would drop ?

You are running in open loop so it's gonna be rich and hot since the sniper isn't measuring. You however are right in the safe zone.

I'm ordering my Sniper on Monday. Do the instructions cover controlling electric fans? Or how did you get this to work that way?

Looks and sounds awesome!!

Note the 10 pin connector "C" optional (light blue) wire connector for the relay ground of an electric fan.

Here's how I wired the relay:
86 (+) IG SW, white
86 (-) from Sniper, lt blue
85 (+) from starter solenoid main cable, brown
87 (+) to electric cooling fan(s)

finally was able to get exhaust hooked up and made a world of difference on sound. Here is a video after being hooked uoand fans running.

Was also able to get engine Timing set and seems to be running smooth.

here is what’s left couple wiring issues ( left turn signal and brake lights) no power for either ( going to have to run new wires I am thinking I might have pinched some wires when I installed new fuel tank. Took it for a quick spin today and it’s night and day difference even with the 1.4
