Gas Can Opinion Please

I have a Scepter MFC that I carried diesel in back in the day. I want to use it now for gasoline in my Tacoma on an extended off-road trip and have read differing opinions about cleaning it out. Thoughts? Experiences? Thanks!

I would just rinse it out with gasoline then run it. The HDPE but they make these cans out of have extremely low permeability and would retain very little if any of diesel fuel or water or anything for that matter carry previously.

And if you have the tiniest amount of diesel fuel in your gasoline, it will mix homogeneously and you'll just burn it. It'll be like adding a can of seafoam or ATF to your gas. No big deal and any modern vehicle would be able to burn it without any detriment.

I agree. I've ended up mixing fuels in the same way without any side effects.

...you are talking Toyota, not Rotax, right? ;)

agree with above, I've used different cans for different fuels from time to time, just rinse with the fuel you're intending to put in and don't look back.
