Episode two was lightyears better than episode one. Let hope they keep headed in the right direction.
I am sad that they had to leave the Stig character behind but the grumpy NASCAR driver is pretty damn funny.

Yeah, but... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02MDAT4giVg

I did like the episode, but I think they need to be careful and actually try to make it more about cars. I really like it as a car review show starring the banter of the three together. The odd one-off episode with the special trip to Jordan, for instance, is good once every third episode or so.

Right now, it feels like a good 1/2 of the show, or more, is dedicated to just getting the three back together to have fun goofing off. I could have liked the spec ops part if it were less contrived and about half the length. I feel like they kind of wasted that opportunity.

Agreed. The Spec Ops portion went to long but the first episode the car review went on and on. Hopefully they will find a balance. The James May segment when he went to the burn out event was pretty entertaining but the crowd looked a bit frightening.

I like it.

I like the new show, but there is something off about it. I think there is an attitude evident in their presenting that is weird. I feel like it didn't exist previously. Maybe the episode directors are adding their own flavor. They should just let the guys run with it.

Also, I think I get why they are doing the "guest celebrity death" segment, but I do hope they don't do it much more. It is running out of "funny".

Overall though, I am glad to have Top Ge...er, The Grand Tour back.

What, you didn't like the Aston Vulcan??

Great to see the boys back together and with the budget they have, can only imagine what is in store for us.

Watched the start of the first one. It felt like TG which was getting tired and worn out.

I was pretty diehard on TG UK but I'm not sold on the GT, yet. I'm waiting for them to get into their groove.

Agreed with the last two comments. I have really enjoyed seeing the guys again the last two weeks. I think last week was a little hokie at times... Hopefully they will find 'it' again.

Makes me wonder who does the writing/production of this show versus the old.

For those that weren't too happy with the first couple of episodes that ebbed and flowed in terms of groove; Ep 4 was rather good in my opinion. Mostly b/c of the bit with the Discos turned eco-friendly vehicles. Classic TG right there.

I liked it better than the others on a whole. The pacing was much better, and it was actually funny. The car review was for real. And the challenge was pretty good. I still feel that they are trying too hard with the dialogue especially. They seem to be in this cycle of thinking that by acting dumb, they are being funny. I always thought the periodic dumb guy act was funny, but it is kind of over done here. Hope it keeps improving! And actually, I'm looking forward to seeing how Top Gear turns out in the coming season as well.
