Fuel Tank Part#

I am trying to identify the fuel tank in my 1984 110 station wagon, tdi; it’s a bit of a parts bin.

The tank pick up and sender is mounted on the drivers side (LHD) around mid-tank. The top is sealed. The return line feeds into a metal elbow protruding from half way up the tank and roughly 1/4 of the way in from the passenger side. The tank is leaking, and I have already had it coated 5+ years ago. I don’t think it’s worth repairing.

I need to source a tank rather quickly. The family and I are road tripping a bit this summer and we are already 4 days delayed due to Rover issues. I finally got it running this afternoon, filled up with diesel and drip, drip, drip... I assume any of the alternative part# tanks can be fitted provided the sender is replaced? Is this an option?

Thanks again,
Henry

To plumb it correctly you need seven things:

Dual hole 19 gallon tank: WFE000190
return elbow for top of tank: NTC2156
seal for top elbow: WGQ000020
five bolts for top elbow: SE105121L
sender for the side: prc8463
lock ring for side : ara1501L
seal for lock ring : ara1502L

pickup to the fuel inlet comes from the side
Return from engine goes to top elbow

Extra tube upper rh side of the tank gets plugged it's not used on your application

Buy it from rovahfarm he has it all in stock ready to ship

Does Rovahfarm have a repair facility? My route south takes me right through Arkansas... I am thinking of saving the shipping to Canada and having it done on site.

Napalam00 - are you sure they have the parts onsite? I am leaving Sunday and won’t be able to contact them until I am south of the other parts retailers...

Trevor's always busy, he was emailing me close to midnight a couple of days ago when I ordered a replacement seat belt......

Thank you to everyone who responded - I did contact Trevor at RovahFarm.

Despite being on vacation, Trevor traded phone calls, emails and texts with me for two days. Trevor confirmed the parts I needed, located them and shipped them quickly at a very generous rate. I can not speak highly enough of RovahFarm’s service. Trevor earned my future business.

In addition, Trevor shipped my parts direct to Ian at British Unlimited in Little Rock, Arkansas. Ian confirmed the parts arrived, accommodated our schedule and ushered my 110 and family directly into a service bay. The team at British Unlimited stayed late to ensure the install was done correctly, and my family and I were on the road the same day. Ian and his team’s knowledge, patience and unbelievable generosity embody the spirit of the Rover community; my family and I are in their debt. There are also classic Jags, Bentley and Rolls on site with service manuals for everything from 110 electrical diagrams to a full set of Lotus Series III Esprit repair manuals to keep you entertained. Highly recommended.

As other Rover owners who travel with family can appreciated - this group of people saved my bacon. My wife and I pulled our daughter out of school early for a trip we had been saving and scheming at for 3 years. We departed a week late because Rovers are how Rovers are. This experience meant two days in the beautiful Lake Catherine state park, and a heart warming experience with RovahFarm and British Unlimited.

Now to keep pushing south...
