Because 2020 continues to suck, we're forced to sell our Range Rover that we just bought back in July. We used it a lot this summer, and had big plans for this beast. We really, really love it, but the long-term life on the road we had been scheming for just isn't in the cards at the moment. So, it needs a new home.
Custom 1995 Range Rover Classic LWB chop-top with a 1976 Toyota Fiberglass Sunrader Camper.
The Range Rover:
New 4.6L V8 short block with plenty of upgrades to make this one off-road capable camper. 236k on chassis, 10k on the engine. Custom rolled fenders house nearly new 33” WildPeak AT Tires on steel rims with a heavy off-set for an aggressively wide stance (chassis/body can handle up to 35” tires). 4” suspension lift with serious articulation, 4.71 differentials (TrueTrac limited slip in the rear), LT230 locking center diff, external transmission cooler, LED headlamps and fogs, custom rock sliders and rear bumper, back-up camera. Custom routed side exit exhaust. Mechanically the vehicle has been almost fully rebuilt with high quality parts at the hands of professional mechanics. Shocks with adjustable compression damping have over 75,000 miles on them and are somehow still going strong, but could maybe stand to be replaced. Truck has been rattle can plasti-dipped matte black. See a full list of upgrades below. Recent oil change, fuel filter, new idle air control valve, and new alternator. Brakes are strong, the transmission shifts beautifully, and the 4.6L V8 has a ton of power. It runs like a brand new engine should. Custom front bumper install, with hidden winch (currently not working).
It has the soft-dash interior, which is in quite good shape, the one exception being the exterior door handles and door lock actuators. This is a common issue with Range Rovers and Discoveries of this era, a spare door and miscellaneous parts are included in the sale, along with a trove of spares and tune-up parts.
The Camper:
This rare lightweight rear swing-out Sunrader slide in camper has been bolted onto an extremely beefy custom frame which allows for passing through into the driver’s cabin and back into the camper. Camper interior needs some LTC (fresh paint, new headliner fabric) but is fully functional and mostly original. Includes a 20 gallon freshwater tank, custom storage in place of the original oven, indoor shower/bathroom, Dometic 3-way fridge, 3 burner stove, tons of storage and large two basin sink. 80W solar, WiFi/Digital Cable Antennae, and Inno locking surf racks on the roof. Camper has been refurbished and re-sealed 18 months ago with Dicor Roof Sealant and is water tight. Brand new super soft mattress. Brand new 105Ah AGM house battery with PWM solar charge controller powers LED lights, water pump, and fridge. Nature's Head composting toilet. Large windows let in a ton of light and fresh air. No leaks.
Because it's a nearly 45 year-old camper, it could use some attention in some areas - the roof hatch could stand to be replaced (it doesn't leak, but it doesn't work all that well), the cabinet doors are pretty wonky, the hatch on the outside that opens to the propane tank should be replaced. We removed the in-operable A/C unit, but haven't quite decided what to do with the open space left behind. We're currently using it as storage. The piano hinge on the party-trick swing out rear hatch could likely stand to be replaced down the line. It's roomy, but also feels comfortably cozy for two people.

Receipts available for all the custom work. This is a very, very capable truck - we took it through some remote and gnarly terrain in Montana and Idaho this summer, and it never flinched. It's really fun to drive, and it gets a lot of attention wherever it goes.
