I've got a Surefire E2D that led a rough life of sitting on my night table. The tailcap / switch is bad and it's destined for the trash unless someone wants it.

Photo borrowed from Cheaper-than-dirt ,,, I guess this shows an "ultra" mine's not anywhere near "ultra" anything.

Yours, first come first served ;)

Hmmm ... "SureFire warrants that if you—our customer—purchase one of our products, and we determine that it is defective in material and/or workmanship during your lifetime, we will repair or replace it—no hassle!"

It was a gift ... I've submitted the question and I'll let you know what I hear back.

I wouldn't toss this. Replacement tailcaps are available. Part Z68 will fit. Additionally, you can replace/upgrade the LED bulb should it fail, ranging from cheap chinesium drop-in bulbs to higher end replacement heads.

I'm a firm believer in buy once, cry once. Quality companies like Surefire stand by their stuff. Yes it's expensive but you get service like what you just experienced. Glad it worked out.
Yes, totally agree with this philosophy. Pelican is the same. Sent a faulty light to John Lee at EE and he had Pelican repair it for me no charge.
