Floor jacks

Jack is a jack. Don't get under the truck with it supported only by the jack.

I can never see myself spending 500+ on a jack. That being said I do respect your opinion.

There's no way that I'd ever buy a safety-critical component like a floor jack from HF.

We use those exact HF ones every day at the dealership. The only issue I have seen with them is the bolts came loose and bent on one of the brackets that holds the rear castors on. They are super light and pretty fast.

We have a bunch of old American made ones around the shop that are all broken.

I hear the Blue NAPA 2 and 3 ton jacks are a made by a company that regularly makes $500+ jacks. The 3.5 ton is currently only $198 instead of $400.

This is what I've used...forever.

Benefit is I don't have a lot of space in my garage and this thing is compact. For my 109, I'm only lifting at the axle and even with 34" tires this jack works just fine. If I wanted to lift at the chassis, this wouldn't do it. But for the once a year I need to do that, I make it work.

After 15 years or so, I finally had to re-fill the hydraulic fluid. After I did that, good to go.

The Costco jack is a copy of a Michelin one I have and it is fantastic. That is a good price and if it is the same manufacturer as mine it is very good. Looks identical but mine is Michelin blue.

I like my Blue Point floor jack but unfortunately, the one I had is no longer made. It looks like Snap-on now makes one that's about the same capacity and price as the foreign-made one I have:

Reviving this... I came across somewhere online that said Hein-Werner is the manufacturer for Snap On jacks and jack stands. They look pretty similar to the older Snap On ones we have here in Santa Monica (we used HF jacks in Manhattan).
