Engine won’t shut off.

Took my ‘87 110 out yesterday for the first time in a month or 2.

Went to move it this morning and the truck wouldn’t turn off after turning the ignition to off.

What do I look for first?

Fuel stop solenoid is probably sticking in the open position. You can unscrew it from the back of the injection pump, clean out the hole and bench test the solenoid with a battery.

It's easy to replace and is available pretty much any parts store. It's the same fuel stop solenoid that came in early Cummins trucks.

Same engine same problem. I needed to clean it out bc it had some small metal bits stuck in the spring. Second and third times the metal bits were bigger. Eventually I had to replace the injection pump. Sent it to be rebuilt but the part that was falling apart is tough to source.

I just replaced my injector pump replaced less than 500 miles ago.

Came back home 4 hours later and it started.

It turned off normally.

I did test for the sake of doing it prior when i pulled the wire off the solenoid the engine stopped. So the solenoid works.

If the engine isn't running away it's either the fuel solenoid sticking or the solenoid circuit staying energized.

Even if it's new id still pull it
