Late header bars.
Like the high quality canvas on 90's.
Prefer the pvc tops/hoods on high cap beds. The pvc tops close with zippers and velcro. Stuff I put in the bed of a 130 never got wet.

The early clamping header sounds easier. Why late?
Why canvas on 90s? Is Exmoor’s ROW canvas “high quality”?

I personally prefer the flat header bar. Exmore and all-wheel trim use the same canvas if you're just getting the standard canvas.
If you're going to buy a mohair canvas that is taught the quality is considerably better.
I had a full-length PVC soft top on my two-door 110 and it was unbelievably loud at speed but as Doug said 100% waterproof.
Now I have none of the above and I had a custom-made the bimini top without any sides. It's made out of convertible top fabric and is ultra quiet and nice and tight.
Tldr The standard style canvas that was essentially a holdover from the series trucks is loud and flappy and not very waterproof.

One seals much better/ tighter than the other. Had the early style pull out several times -always in the rain.
Have only fitted the high end mohair on the trucks we've built. Theres more to a good top, the difference between a base Exmoor and a Badger is huge, both the fabric used and the stitching. The belt rail system is far superior to the hook and loop stuff.
I take that back, we have a full length tan pvc top on a tithonus we rebuilt on a galv frame with gems v8 and automatic.
