When I lived in New Jersey and upstate New York I found that a stick on oil pan heater and a in block coolant heater really made cold starts a snap. I kept my truck parked outside and had them hooked up to a Christmas light timer. Worked great for seven years !

I keep coming back to this thread to get ideas and inspiration. In my mind I know the 200TDI will be better torque wise than the OM617 and less leaks.
