Disc Brake Questions

I need to address an intermittent clicking noise from a rear brake on my 110. The caliper on this Salisbury disc conversion appears to be working fine, but I assume there is an issue with the anti-rattle springs or the disc/pads are worn.

The caliper is stamped - Lockheed 3247-637C - which I believe cross-references to Rover’s RTC3380. My usual list of parts retailers don’t list a pad, disc or pin/spring kit part number for this caliper. Do any list members know the part #’s offhand? An part #’s I may find at the local Napa? What’s the minimum disc width for this brake system?

What are members thoughts on the disc mud guards. Mine are rusty and look like a grit and leaking oil trap. Any reason not to remove them?

Thanks again,
Henry

I always remove my mud guards because in CO, we have a lot of small rocks/gravel and I have picked them out of the mud guards probably a couple dozen times before I just ditched them all. I hate them.

As to the brakes, it looks like these are front 4 piston calipers, correct? That is the RTC3380 From early 90 front, but since you are running them in the back, I don't want to guess at all on that...

you should have split pins retaining your pads if you are using that front caliper in the rear.

Pins : RTC5001 (kit with 4 pins)
antirattle spring: 606688 (need 2, one per caliper)
Pads: depends on the type you have in there post a pic
Rotors: Solid type LR017951

Minimum disc thickness is stamped onto the edge of the disc

Since these are front calipers you should be using front rotors

Thank you for the replies... I am confident in the RTC3380 determination. I was able to cross-reference the Lockheed part#.

I have included a photo - I have an oil leak to sort...

Thanks again...

Yea that's a front caliper . You have the solid pins not the split pins so the part number for above pins is incorrect

Anybody know the modern part# equivalent for the brake pads? I keep coming up with STC3765 or RTC5756. My parts source indicates these have been superceded but don’t provide the new part#...

Am I right to assume LR017951 will suit any non-vented from caliper?

Thanks again...

There are three front pad types. Yours have holes in the top ears that's the type you need

Take your pick

Vented and nonvented calipers are essentially the same there is just a spacer and longer rentition pins

Rotors are all the same front either vented or not. You need a solid front rotor, rockauto has them as cheap as $14
