I think a documentary covering the types of people who buy these things would be fascinating. You’d see what they were thinking, when their obsession began, how they worked hard to finally make it. I can only imagine someone paying that much for one who missed out buying one new because they couldn’t afford it. Now they give no Fs and this is as close to a new 1997 as you can get (that wasn’t a complete nut and bolt replacement rebuild).

Do you guys remember that red 97 a few years ago with just 50 miles on it? I'd be intrigued to get in that guy's head. I work on that one at the dealership an it has been hacked up with some shitty aftermarket speakers and radio. Now it has about 1,500 miles on it.

That one went for around 250k I believe, which probably holds the record

Whatever, this one will go into some collection/museum and be turned over only enough to keep the juices flowing.

I guess maybe it helps buoy up the value of our rigs that have much more humble track records

Interesting for me is the LR winch bag. I had the dealer install the optional winch on my ‘95 hardtop and the bag came with it. Still have it as kept it when I sold the 90. Basically just a Warn bag in green with the LR logo vs Warn.

Nice Rover.

I'm pretty sure that's not a winch bag. The 97s came with a Recovery Kit bag, in the same green bag. A recovery strap, a tree strap, a couple of shackles, and a pair of gloves.

I just can't imagine not driving it or any vehicle. If I had a real Shelby Cobra or Mustang or Camaro, etc. I would drive the crap out of it.

Recovery bag probably a better description. This is mine that came with the dealer installed optional winch on my ‘95 D90 HT.
The ‘94 RRC LWB has a Warn winch so use it.
