Defender 110 Beach Runner - Electric Motor

I posted this on D90 too:

If someone were looking to build a 110 with an electric motor who is there in the US that might have the ability to accomplish this (In a reasonable period of time)? Is anyone doing Electric trucks here?

The truck would be used 100% of the time on a Quail Plantation here in SC. Beach Runner Configuration to transport hunters around the property, but must be electric to not create a bunch of noise that would flush the birds.

Something setup like this, but electric.

Thanks Frank, I saw that while looking. I will reach out to Mark.

Dave, are you asking me to not ask the same question on multiple forums?

I’m asking you to please post here and if you choose to post there PLEASE word it differently.

Honestly I feel like sometimes we are spinning our wheels here. If you guys want to support the Walmart forums of the world then do so. If you want to support the Mom and Pop forums of the world then post up here and only here. Until the prolific posters on both forums only post here we will never grow. It’s your call not mine. I throw my money into here, moderate both posts and membership requests and I don’t even own a Defender anymore. It’s a bit depressing at times.

Ok, I’ll word them differently next time.

From my point of view (and likely others), when considering what will most likely be a very expensive project, I want to tap all the resources available to make an educated decision.

I certainly understand your point of view, but asking people to only utilize this board as a resource is probably not realistic.

I spoke to a company here in the states today doing Tesla conversions and their product seemed exceptional. We are unfortunately on two different planets as it relates to price. I am reasonable and understand this is going to be expensive, but I am also not naive.

Juant’s trucks are perfect, I am not sure how to get one in the US though. I plan on reaching out hopefully tomorrow.

I have a couple of other suggestions from folks here and have just not had time to connect. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll make time.

Thanks

For that type of coin and effort why not use a modern GM V8? In its "stock" configuration they opererate in near silence with a factory exhaust . Majority of swaps have the factory valve train replaced due to the active fuel BS substituting a much more aggressive cam headers etc.

I dont know how the internet and forums such as this one work, its a real bummer what happened to the other site.

There was a Tesla powered '16 Defender done in England and that one looked pretty neat. Auto tranny and all.

Interesting conversation with another Family on our street. Only six families in half a mile of dead end dirt road so we're all neighbors. He told me their Tesla costs more to charge up than his Raptor does to refuel....

How did he calculate that? Delta on the power bill?
