For a DD, RBB a MT makes a poor choice. Be happy with AT.
Tirerack reports the KM3 in 255/85-16 will be shipping from their warehouse around March 9. $249each. Apparently they are in transit to them. Trigger pulled...

While 285/75 is the logical replacement, because I have the rear wheel arch extra tank, that space is nominally already taken. I've already gotten the 30mm spaces fitted. I never had clearance problems before the spacers which push the tires out nicely.

I have the wheel arch tank on my truck which I have had with 285/75R16, 255/85R16, and 8.25R16. All of them will rub slightly under extreme conditions, but not enough to do any damage.

+1 vote for XZLs. They are more expensive than a normal tire, but they also last way longer and are much more durable. Also, they ride way better and are much quieter than a BFG m/t.

Would love to hear what you think of the MTs. Smoothness, noise, etc.... are those the 255?

They are 255/85-16. Bunch of work to do next week-I'll drop the truck off at BDR to get the work done. Nothing like a heated shop...

I like that 255/85 size. I think it kills some top speed or that could be just my transmissions setup, BUT they look killer on a stock height defender.

The Old KMs were so toasted at the end, its going to be cruel to compare them to the KM3s. Plus my CV joint/Swivel is damaged creating some vibration I think. Thats going to be rebuilt on the left side. The old parts going into omy trail spare box.

Terrafirma TF202 set up sourced from L8
Springs and shocks choice has changed so much since the first time I swapped out my stock D1 set up for a RN sourced OEM/Biilstein set up. Back then it was personal choice mix and match. second updated set up was RT sourced set up (still on my D1) that I ported over to the 90.

So where did you find the 255 KM3s?

I think I'm leaning towards 255 in the KM2/3 or the Coopers. It's just that I've run BFG, and like the look, and know they do well on ice and packed snow.

Do they even make KM2s anymore? I'd assume anything that you would buy would be old stock at this point.

They're okay in the snow and ice. No mud tires are really bad great on hard snow and ice.
