Dash Mount for phone/tablet

Yeah, the dash dock looks like it belongs in a jeep JK with angry eye headlight trim and bright green underglow lights. Vape cloud pouring out the window.
And you would be right, as for full disclosure, I adapted a dock that was meant for Jeeps to our Defenders. Minus the underglow lights!

I'm missing the old Kenwood radio. They are super nerdy early-2000s mobile units but damn, they worked so well and were so easy to use. I think I sold it on D90 or Expo. I still have the 276C GPS and should get it going again. Those were the best units Garmin ever made.
As do I! And a RAM mount for it. Just works.

Pretty sweet, Zack. I have the Dash dock, that crazy contraption and really like it. Holds a bunch of stuff that needs a home. It is good to have 2 quality choices.

Got mine today and installed it. Looks great and well built. I have to be honest, it took me a minute to figure out the bottom “locking tabs” 🤦‍♂️ I could’ve used it this weekend. Too much looking at my phone trying to drive home on side roads avoiding the highway.

Not going to lie, the billet pieces are why it's so expensive. I expected it to cost us half of what it did.

Similar 3D printed option I stumbled upon. Not sure how sturdy it is, or if it would flex causing movement. Guess it depends upon the weight of what is attached..

That's actually not bad, texture looks pretty good too.

I have the 3D printed one from eBay. I've had it one the truck for a few years and its been on many offroad trips and has yet to fall off, but I think it could at any time. The plastic is strong but the tabs underneath that are supposed to hold it in place seem to rely on just friction to hold it in place when they expand, at least as far as I can tell. I keep meaning to take off the dash pad and see if I can make it more secure by modifying it, I think it wouldn't be too hard. However, it hasn't caused any major issues yet but it does annoy me as it doesn't feel as secure as it should.

This option is cheap and install couldn't be easier. If it's a heavy object, the arm can lay on the ashtray. Holds a phone fine.

No worries about sturdiness or movement flex with the Roversnorth dash mount. I'll give up plastic for metal/aluminum on everything I can.
