Engine clears steering lhd box just fine.

I have always disliked the Rover hydraulic lines. In this picture you can see I have made adapters and converted to normal AN fittings. These lines have similar fittings @ the other end. The powere steering resevoir is aluminum and has AN fittings on the bottom so no more of the hose clamp weep all the other Rovers have. These three lines cost $82. Superior to oem, cheaper, and you can have replacments made in any small town.

The 5/8 nipple in the lower s shaped radiator hose is the return from the coolant bottle.
I am curious how you connected to the PS pump on the R2.8. Is the 5/8 barb on the pump removable / replaced by AN fitting? I was able to use AN on the pressure side to 4 bolt PS, but I really dont want to use hose/clamps on the pump-reservoir connection

What I’m planning on is filing down nipple, removing the ridge that prevents hose from slipping off— it is 16mm OD. I’m getting a 5/8” tube compression to -10AN fitting converting it to -AN lines. FYI for posterity…

Not needed as far as pressure, but I’ve had bands and hose clamps alike seep over time and the band is a one use thing and if you cut them in the field you better have a spare. You could just use a hose and hose clamps and no AN line at all for that matter. However for me, I do like the look of AN, the ease of removal, and ive never had a compression fitting seep or leak, including on higher pressure lines on my LS. Just a preference. Loads of ways to skin a rabbit. But your advice is solid and some folks will undoubtedly see AN lines as total overkill and just want to use PS line with hose clamps or bands.

Is there a lot of difference in quality of AN lines? I don’t have a ton of experience with them, but i don’t like the way they look. I do appreciate how easy they are to use in custom applications.
