Well.... It's practically in my neighborhood, so I'll go check it out if anyone is interested in getting the Feds to start following them around:

Also, does this happen with other new vehicles? Only about 45 minutes from me, this one.

Is there a difference in Oregon state laws & Federal laws when it comes to vehicle registration? I remember it being a bit of a process getting mine licensed, so I wonder how they got a legal Oregon registration. Nice truck though.

I didn't have any real issues getting mine figured out. But I have no idea what he would tell them on an original 2010 -- oh, yeah, go ahead and just register it as a 1988 Range Rover. That'll be fine!

I wonder if he'd let me drive it. Don't think I've ever driven a shiny one like this, but I think the 130 Brian let me drive had a Td5 in it, if I remember.

Titled in Oregon but no plate.... wonder what that means..

So I just took mine to the state ( MO) to get it titled and registered...she gave me the option to title the car (pay the taxes) but not register it.

So I asked the same thing "WHAT WHAT?" Cars that are not intended to be driven on the public street do not need plates and thus are not subject to the registration (plate) tax. Think about a farm truck that never leaves the farm...you received a title when you purchased it, and the next buyer might want a title from you when they purchase it...but plates do you no good.

Farm plates are a thing in many states. I'm betting its run around on dealer or trade plates from time to time. Still doesn't quite explain how it got here past Border Patrol....

Someone on Facebook reached out to me trying to sell a set of Michelin XCL’s on ANR4636. The price seems high but I haven’t seen XCL’s for sale in forever. Could be good for a military or camel collector. They’re on marketplace:

There's a Perentie for sale in British Columbia. I don't know a lot about those. Do they all have the Isuzu engine? Ad says it's one of 32.

32 on earth? Doubt it.

I think there are a very small number of Perentie 5 door station wagons. So 32 perentie Australian Army 5 door wagons is plausible.

Overall actually a decent price for a decent car. Yes they had Isuzu engines, normally aspirated. Great engine with decent upgrade potential. I talked to a local Perentie owner who upgraded with a turbo, Roamerdrive, and propane injection (he has some sort of deal on propane so running lots of it is economical). He cruises up and down the interstate with ease.
