Clutch spring upgrade

Yep I've got one and the "power master" that they sell as well. Not installed yet but the stuff is quality.

If you don't already have the new style clutch tower housing they can actually sell you the entire clutch tower with the spring pre-installed and ship it to you.

I had my purchasing guy order a bunch(mostly because I wanted one for my truck to try it), but I've heard good things.

Real world first hand experience...👉🏻 The spring is substancially different from the OEM and makes for a lighter pedal when depressed. I have had the LOF spring for a couple years now. I recently also installed a new LOF slave and this has made the pedal very light and car like. I also installed a new OEM (Delphi) Master at the same time as the slave. The end result? A very much reduced effort to use the clutch pedal and way more comfortable to drive.

I highly recommend this mod if you are looking for a reduced effort pedal, this the way to go👍🏻

Just installed mine tonight. Concur with 4RF DS, makes a difference that is well worth the money. I already had the updated pedal box. This was a a 10 minute install.

You don't have a part number for the new style clutch tower, do you? I've searched their site to no avail and wanted to check before reaching out to them directly.

EDIT: Nevermind. The $26 is for the pedal box and spring. I thought it was just for the spring. Bargain.

Being an over center spring, it does lighten up the pressure but also changes the kinetics too. When the pedal first starts moving (free stroke) the resistance is slightly higher, as you are mostly working against the spring. Mid stroke is a little lighter. Then the pedal feel gets a lot lighter deep in the stroke. Because of that the clutch engagement feel is a bunch different. Not necessarily bad, just a lot different from an old style pedal box without the over center spring.

Im told the spring comes with the 2 small bushings as well, which are around $6-8/ea from LR.

Yup. Spring comes with both little side bushings and the u-shaped bushing that the spring nests in on the back of the pedal arm. I just left the stock bushings in place, so I've now got spares.

And to add to the confusion- why is this one priced at under $5? What am I missing here??


Never mind, again. That’s just the bush kit. I’m going to bed early tonight- long week, apparently...

It's not on their site you have to email them.

When I did my order with them I got a clutch tower, power master, new spring and an extreme 2.8tdi clutch with small parts
