Clutch fluid and bleeding

So i replaced my Master cylinder and slave cylinder plus installed a new hydraulic line.
Currently I'm trying to bleed the system, but I've poured two liters of DOT 3 in, how much does the system hold? It doesn't seem to be leaking out anywhere.

Is that how much you have bled through the system or how much fluid you have filled the system with?

It holds probably an 1/8th of a pint. It's running into the transmission bell housing from the slave if you poured in that much fluid.

Well i feel like a dummy.

I saw on a UK forum they put a litre r something in it.
Unfastened the slave cylinder and a flood of brake fluid came out, even a slight leak in the bell housing possibly.

How bad is it to have brake fluid on the clutch? how do i clean it up?

SO the slave cylinder may be a wee bit shorter than the original delphi SC. the piston was unseated, just slightly when i removed the rubber boot.

I think i might just reinstall the delphi and find a better suited replacement SC or should i get a slightly longer push rod?

the P/Ns all seemed to line up, but still problems.

It shouldn't have soaked the clutch, the slave is at the bottom of the bell housing. Just let it drain overnight and start over.
What transmission are we dealing with?
Also why panic and post the same question at the other site too? We are happy to help.

Denatured alcohol works good for cutting the mess of brake fluid. I clean my power bleeder with it all the time.

Actually just bled my clutch last night. On the subject, has anyone gotten a slave with the wrong size inlet into it? My new one was the wrong size so ,I temporarily just used an old one I had. It was just odd. I can't remember what brand it was. I was so pissy last night when I found that, I threw it aside and didn't look.

I swapped in a 300Tdi and an R380 in a buddy's truck a few weeks ago. Rovers North evidently had some what I believe to be mislabeled boxes with the wrong slaves in them. I can't remember how Briggs figured out which was which but it all went together ok. Hopefully that's not your issue.

Could be it. It definitely had the wrong size inlet. I fortunately had a good one to use, so all is well. I will just replace it later.

Nothing scary about changing a clutch. Bit of work is all.
