I’d like to get the auxiliary wiring on my 110 cleaned up.
In a Mud Console, I have Carling switches for:
My rear defroster, interior lights and hazard are still in the stock location and I wasn’t planning to relocate them.
In addition, I have a Webasto heater under the cubby mounted in an SDO enclosure, which also supplies always-on USB and a 12v socket.
The Webasto set up and the winch (which disconnects via an Anderson in the battery compartment) were done by Doug, who also installed an entirely new harness, so I’m feeling pretty good about that. Everything else is a little…I think the technical word is “janky.”
The main thing I know about automotive electrical is that I would prefer not to electrocute myself, or set my vehicle up for a future fire. I don’t know if what I have calls for an auxiliary fuse box, or if that’s unnecessary, but I don’t currently have one.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid automotive electrician in the NYC area? Pretty much everything I can find are shops focused on audio setups in fancy cars. I want someone to appropriately wire some accessories in a car that’s likely to be wet on the inside and out.
As an aside, my windscreen and seats have On/Off switches. Do others do it this way, or with a momentary On switch and a timed relay?
Thanks for any advice and suggestions.
