Why spend so much time on such a horrible cage.

12j 🤔
Power output 68 hp (51 kW) @ 4,200 rpm
Torque output 114 lb⋅ft (155 N⋅m) @ 1,800 rpm

Every Def that seller posts looks like shit. Amazingly, ppl have paid some stupid money for his trucks. This one follows a very consistent pattern. I don’t get it.

Oh heck, this guy is back selling the same crap trucks he always sells. They get unusually high bids for unusually crusty an poorly built vehicles. I can’t help the feeling that there is something untoward going on.

When you’re sourcing ex-MOD trucks from the Middle East, this is likely their earlier life...

I’ve had to stop looking as well, Bring a Trailer is only interested in knob-polishing comments and anodyne questions, they moderate anything that might undercut the sales price. They also are happily enjoying the fact that they are not accountable for seller-furnished descriptions. I still think this seller has shill friends or is engaging in a money-laundering scheme. If you wanted to launder 50k at a time you could do worse than buy crap trucks overseas, spend no money fixing them up, and sell them to known parties people for hyper-inflated prices.

My mind needs to see an interview with both buyer and seller. I simply cannot process. Even if new owner is not a Defender enthusiast, it still blows my mind.

🤨

Love the attitude of the seller, and what a unique build on this 130. It’s guaranteed this is the only 130 of this type on the road. Congrats to the buyer and the seller.

LOL. Sure it is.

Here is a heap that isn’t even being sold by Alpinelement - but even this august purveyor of finely prepared vehicles and noted marque (Otokar) expert has “a lot to say.” Crimes include bed liner on the valve covers and a “battery that won’t hold a charge when the vehicle sits.”

This GD thing sold for $50k !?!

Whoever mentioned this seller being involved in a money laundering scheme I think is on to something 😂

No doubt. I thought it was funny how the seller was asked if it had a/c. After admitting that it did not, he then pointed out the presence of the forward facing vents and how well they work. However, I wonder how effective those vents are after they are covered up with a Puma dash?

It is mind boggeling to see what happens on BaT. Crap trucks, mostly advertised by this guy Alp. I am sorry, but what the fuck, how can people not see the crappy things that happen on those cars? it is breathtaking, bedliner on valvecovers, rivited rollcages, back yard resprays that don't even look good at 10ft away..

Sellers like me must get frustrated that those Otokar crap trucks sell for more than a well built low mileage truck at the same Bringatrailer site.

Are the people that bid on trucks like that basing their decision to buy off the comments like “beautiful” and “this would be really fun to own”? How is it rebuilt, but has a major electrical issue? Why does BaT allow that to be listed as anything besides a literal bring-a-trailer purchase? Or is that their thing? I know that’s how it started, but that isn’t what it is anymore.

Yes, I think most BaT buyers are first time buyers that go from the comments and some info they found on internet. This is also what bothers me, that those faulty comments let prospect buyers think the car they are bidding on is nice when sometimes, let's say with Otokar trucks, it is absolutely not.
People like me can see a lot on pictures alone, but new buyers can not.

I think BaT is only going for the money now, and not for the special cars anymore. When you want to list they often talk your reserve down or they will not list...

A lot of comments are for the likes.

Another half-assed body+on refurbishment characterized as a “six figure restoration” by this seller. Random rivets, painted seals, and who knows what else. Also, the turbo piping is weird, looks like a replacement engine out of a tdi disco.
This truck showed up at the horse farm my daughter rides at today. It's everything you think it is.

I think it’s a very nice 110, love the cubby box AC system. It’s a very beautifully built defender! By far one of the best ones yet. This is truly a nicely restored 110. Some one will continue to have lots of fun with it. Just, wow.

At least that’s what the comments tell me to think...
