Nice build. Wondering out loud what it would take to add airbags.

No offense if anyone here wrote that but... Dear lord. I was on a head on collision in my '97 ST. If it had an airbag I probably would have been dead.

During the driving video might as well show it being put into reverse the bain of this transmission. A plus for those that don’t like having a manual transmission is having this be an automatic for sure. As we see most coming from the UK still have the manual. This company is obviously aware of the higher end market. To go automatic,

And this dumb question is from me. Can you even import an Automatic into the US if it started life as an manual?

I don’t understand how these companies can send a truck out like this. They clearly spent a substantial amount of time doing an LS swap and tons of upholstery work. Didn’t even bother to reseal and paint the axles.

Probably because their potential buyer will never look under there and notice it. Agreed though it shows the lack of professionalism of a company.

forget about the aesthetics and take a look underneath
I don't see the Boge strut, which is responsible for coil RRC's great ride. I'd def want one on my $96k '88 RR. (All-in price would be over 100.) Hard to find a remanufactured/restored/restomod/recreation/updated/? Rover that doesn't sacrifice one or more important original features on the way to some artiste's idea of 21st Century "perfection."

Standard Defenders age gracefully, the wear and tear an indication of what its done and where its been. They can get pretty beat and still look good. Can't say the same for this kind of thing.

They need a different A frame set up to include the Boge unt. Which are still available in rebuilt form.... https://www.kingsleycars.co.uk/boge-self-leveling-unit/ a cool $3k by the time you have shipped your core there and gotten a rebuilt unit.

What about the axle? Boge attaches to center of axle. Were any Salisbury's built for the Boge?
Rebuilds are so expensive that it makes me wonder if any of them still work.
The boge attaches to the rear axle ball joint bracket. On trucks with boge units it had a provision for the shock.

New here, but found this thread amazingly insightful (and funny) as a hopeful Defender owner, trying to learn how suss out what's good and bad. Anyhow, not BaT, but this listing is pretty amazing:

In particular the comment from the supposed builder is great:
A little background on this truck, to start we, Safari HP did NOT build this truck. This Truck was never in our facility. We did supply the builder with the majority of the parts as well as Technical assistance at their shop and many conversations over the phone with the builders.
We at Safari HP can not assume the rights over building the truck nor can we warranty it as we only supplied parts that were installed by another facility.
We at Safari HP can not give a price point of how much is invested into this truck as SHP did not build it.
As we appreciate the credit given, we cannot take credit for a build we did not create only assist with.
We assume that it was listed as our build since we did supply multiple parts and technical assistance.
And the kicker:
As I stated we did not build this truck and never saw the title but agree that this is not a Defender it is a Santana.
