Brake Failure

Driving down a windy steep gravel road & noticed the pedal slowly going to the floor when I depressed it. Down shifted & pumped it a couple times before the washboard corners & I had NO brakes 😨! A mile from home & no traffic, I slowed with my handbrake & down shifted to second, used my handbrake at the one stop sign & made it home into the garage. Obvious front left brake hose leak. It was already on my list to replace the old brake hoses with SS braided - Any recommendations on brand and where to order them from?

Looking at different quality/cost options - Some list the SS braided brake hose as a NAS brake hose. As I am ordering associated tubing, tees & fasteners, I want to make sure the connectors match what I have (1986 ROW 110). Is there a difference between the hoses for NAS or ROW?

Tip from someone in his crazier days drove much further than two miles with now brakes. Once on local roads, use low range....and an extra dose of anticipation....

There is a difference. Also make sure to buy extended if you have a lift .

You need 3 lines , two front one rear

I bought Goodridge extended lines from my Defender. Had them sitting on the shelf in the box for a year before I got around trying to install.... they are at least 2" shorter than the stock lines on my truck. I have $100 worth of SS lines sitting on my shelf that I can't use for anything. They look to be well made, but just make sure you buy something that is long enough. And since these are marked as being the extended lines, I have no idea what you should buy!

Uh-oh. That's the tough part of not being able to bring the old hoses to a local parts supplier & match them up. The Expedition Exchange hoses look great, but specify NAS. I thought the extended were for lifted & I'm stock height, but I'm going to pull a hose & measure the length before ordering.

Yeah, that would be the only way to do it. I'm very gun shy on ordering parts now, and I end up just doing nothing, because of the last few years of getting things that don't end up fitting. I got these from Rovers North, so I had thought the order would be a good fit. I may measure and see if I can make at least one of them work on my RRC or Disco when I get around to it.

It looks like EE has solved this issue by just having one extra long length that will fit anything. Maybe I'll go with their lines.

What's the part number on the box? We only sold the standard ones as special order, the majority are +2". Can you measure yours? I'll compare to the ones we have tomorrow

I would not recommend "extra long" from EE because the longer the lines, the higher the chance that you get them pinched somewhere which happened to me with +6" on my D2

I'm going to dig them out of whatever parts hole I have in my garage and recheck. I know the box was marked for extended length for the D90, but.... it was a few years ago, maybe I was just thinking they looked too short, or thought they must be wrong if for the D90, but then set them aside to work on something else without actually measuring. Typically, I'd sell something like that on to someone local, and reorder for the D110. Which actually could have happened as well, now that I think of it.

what is the actual part number for goodridge +2 D90 lines? Hard to make sense of with all the re-labeling from vendors.

I don't think they are "extra long", they are just longer than stock and probably meant for a 2" or so lift. They are the same length of the SS braided ones I pulled off of my truck.

That's one thing, the way it was described it seemed like it'd work for any lift.
