ARB Awning?

I'm looking at the ARB awning but I'm not Sure if the 6 or 8 foot length would be best for a 110.

Seems like the 8 foot would be a bit long, but probably nice to have once it is in use.

Any thoughts?

I have the smallest one they make mounted to the back of my rack. I love it when cooking in the rain. I can't imagine setting up an 8' long version. I feel like you would need two people. They are pretty unwieldy.

I'm a bit worried about that as well, but looking at the videos of people doing it, I think the problem of setting it up on your own is basically the same no matter what size it is. I think I'm going to do a home made version for off the rear door area.

Get the 8 ft. 6’ is too short for a 110 and you’ll appreciate the extra shade...especially if you get caught in rain! 6’ is the perfect size for my DI but too short in my 110.

I have the 6' CVT on my D2 and used it extensively this weekend. Yea they're a bit of a pain to set up by yourself, but really easy with a second person. How often are you going to use one of these while going solo? Even when it's drizzling, you can be under cover and have the kitchen set up in no time.

If I had a 110 I'd definitely get the longer one. No real additional difficulty in set-up IMO. It would still need to be a CVT, though; where I live I'd be ostracized otherwise. ;)

I ordered the 2500!

I'll get it on Wednesday, and my schedule might even allow me to fix the hub this week, and get the awning out for a test.

I appreciate my ARB awnings (on my trailer, one side, one short rear). The quality is fantastic--and after I bought my 2500, I threw out all plans to make my own for the rear and bought another. They are just that good.

Worth it.

Have not put it on yet. Have to get some L brackets. But the canvas and build quality is really good.

I’ll have to get some better pics, but I managed to get it installed by using the Thule towers themselves. Now that it actually works, I’ll modify the mounting by getting some wedge spacers made. Would be super easy, just needed to have the thing in place to use and to see how it mounts, now I can make or order up permanent angles spacers.

The material is excellent. Design seems good. And I am glad I did not buy a cheap-o version because the metal bits are just robust enough, but you wouldn’t want anything thinner.

I picked up the 2500 ARB awning in mid-June. It has been much more useful than I had hoped for. A couple days ago my son and I went camping and the awning was very welcome protection from a few hours of rain. The 2500 is the perfect size for a 110.

Awesome. And that's a sweet looking truck. Glad your kid is able to enjoy it with you.

I have not been able to use mine yet...... I have three months off in the summer, and I can't even find the time to go camping for a single night!!
