Anyone know what goes here on a TD5 dash?

I got the new TD5 dash from SP and it has this on the center dash,( a long rectangle under the stereo) I was wondering what was supposed to go there?

Not yet, it looks nice. I’m still collecting switches/buttons and window switches that will work with it. Plus all the switches and the stereo opening need to be cut out, so I’m going to have a plastic guy do that tomorrow.

I’ve never seen anything there. I assume they just added some panel detail or thought you might want to put some switches there.

I always thought it would be a good place for a Diesel engine heater controller.

Ha ha! Instead of putting something there, install these in the heated seat blanks:

I got one of those already, I could put switches in there.

So I had the dash cut for gauges, apparently the SP dash has much shallower spots for the buttons and they stick out farther than I had hoped.
the second pic is the factory dash
3rd is the SP dash uncut

I think the problem is that you’re missing the mounting plastic thing behind the panel that allows the switches to sir deeper.

If the mounting points for the center console are the same, you can probably run the MudUK double din version. Still need that switch retainer though (YUD000310PMA).

Also has some options for filling the double din slot if you dont want to run a large screen.

I don’t have it in front of me, but it’s not really designed for that as fas as I can tell. None of the switches are cut out, it’s all solid fiberglass.

It’s just kind of crazy to have to buy another one.
