Any other Tacoma owners out there?

It’s now been six years with taco. My only complaint is that the inside rear view mirror has a slight amount of play when you go over big bumps. Going to do brake fluid and a full service of all the fluids as soon as it warms up.

If i have to get somewhere, I am putting my money on taco to get me there. On or off road.

I have a 2017 DCSB and its been great. I like that it feels like a truck, is great off road and comfortable and reliable enough for long trips. This is my 3rd Toyota 4x4. I've also owned a 1990 4Runner and a 1978 FJ40. The Tacoma has never required anything besides scheduled maintenance and has never leaked a drop. It's a TRD Off-Road with a manual transmission and a factory rear locker. I bought it new and I added heavier duty OME springs and shocks and rock sliders right after got it and called it a day.

My only complaint is the V6 engine seems more suited for a car than a truck. Power is adequate, but It makes peak torque at 4800 RPM so its missing the usual low end grunt I'm used to in a off-road vehicle.

The funny thing is that as much as I like the Tacoma, I'm considering selling it to fund a Cummins R2.8 swap for the Defender and going back to using the 90 as my daily driver.

I have heard that about the 3.5 V6, although my friends with them all don’t seem to mind. I have the 2.7 liter four cylinder 5MT 4x4 and, although she is slow, she has enough power for my needs.

2014 Double cab short bed 4wd. Have had it since new and had an 06 in same configuration before that. I toy with the idea of trading it in for a 4Runner or wrangler, but the bed is so convenient. If my m416 had a tailgate I’d be more likely to make the switch. Perfect homeowners size truck imo.

My first new vehicle was a '94 single cab, short bed, 4x4... my latest Taco, a 2015 TRD Pro (aka The Great Pumpkin). The last year they offered a supercharger kit - the dealer comp'd the install, so it was under factory warranty. Note the repurposed RN Hudson Bay roof rack.

There may have been others in between.

I'm looking to replace my stock front bumper on my 2021 Taco with something that has recovery points, light bar and winch mounts. Anybody have an wisdom to share?

2021 Off Road Short Bed. Only issue as the daily driver was that I needed to put extra padding in the console armrest.
